I am not sure where the first image came from (but I freekin love it); the lovely turbanned girls are from Elke Kramers SS09/10 collection; trenched girl from Glamcanyon; sunglasses quote girl was taken from Absolutely Beautiful Things; chair shot from the amazing work found on the website of the agency Agent Bauer and the last shot is a photo by Martyn Thompson. I cannot recommend his book "Interiors" enough.

After many rumors & a long wait this year, it's finally arrived....TOPSHOP. Listen closely...you can hear many girls bursting out of their skin with excitement.  If you're in Melbourne today, you can visit the store located at the Jam Factory on Chapel Street for it's grand opening. 
Now, how long do we have to wait until one opens in Sydney??? (rumors are it will be located in the Gowing's Building in Sydney City)

Rare Bird of Fashion - Iris Apfel

 

 

 

The latest IT girl Mrs Iris Apfel, actually she has been on the scene since there was a scene to be on.  90yr old Iris Apfel  is an amazing women in fashion, starting out as a copywriter for WWD. From there she moved onto creating textiles with her husband at their firm, Old World Weavers for the white house & clients such as Estee Lauder.  Iris became a permanent fixture on the New York social scene, often being photographed in the style section of the New York Times.   Recently when asked if she is ever tempted to say something to someone who she thinks looks dreadful she replied, 'Oh, now that would be horrible. It's a free country - if you want to look like a freak, that's your problem.'

Cable Cars in Cable Sweaters

We are coming into a very hot Aussie summer, but I will be spending a month of it in America- San Francisco and New York to be exact. So whilst my buddies are gearing up for the beach and fresh summer fruits and long lazy picnics in the shining sun, I am thinking about knit scarves, gloves, layers of warmth and texture and frosty frosty air. And I am so very excited. The above editorial from Glamour magazine is definitely getting me in the mood... chunky pullovers to snuggle into and a splash-mash of patterns. Less than a month to go!
